The Principal,
Coram High School
6917 Chestnut Avenue
Coram, NY 11727

Dear John Simpsons,
I am writing to complain about your decision in closing the school.
I am sorry to hear that the school will be closed because of the falling numbers. That's a very bad news.
In my opinion the decision in closing the school is unfair due to some reasons.
Firstly, I am afraid that the students will find any difficulties in continuing their study.
Secondly, if they continue they study in the other school, they will find a new school environment. It is not an easy way for them to have a good nteraction in their new school.
I am sure that it is very difficult to change your decision. However, I hope you can find the best solution to solve the problem.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours Faithfully,

Kristin Hannah

  1. How much does it cost in one day meeting?
  2. How long will the program be held?
  3. How many trainers will conduct the Achievement Motivation Training?
  4. What should we provide in running the program?
We are interested in your training. We would appreciate any information you can provide. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Writing Task : Notes and Messages

These are some notes from exercise 7, 9 and 10.

1. Caller:  It's Frank Woods here. Can you please leave a note for Fred he he arrives? It is a bad news, I'm afraid. Tell him that job is off. They gave it to some firm in Blackburn. I'll call back later with the details, or he can ring me before 2.30.
Receiver: I’ll give him the message, Mr Woods.

2. A friend is supposed to arrive at your house at 4.30 p.m. It is now 4.50 and you have to get the post office before 5. You go out and leave a note on the door.

3. You are at work. A workmate's husband rings to say he'll meet his wife at 5.15 p.m. He doesn't say where, but he says to tell her not to be late. you leave a note for your workmate.

4. Think of some situation (at home, at work, at school) when you might need to write a note. Write those note now. Prepare and draft as much as you need to.
